Stuff Sucks #2 - Liz Greenfield

When I was reading this recent one, it felt ages since I last reviewed the first Stuff Sucks book, but sure enough I'm mesmerized by the artwork of Stuff Sucks. I think it's cause it's black and white characters but with a colourful background, always bring its more into focus in some sense.
Since I was used to the miniture book, I got into reading it quicker, but almost forgot what happened last time, but in some sense I didn't need to. I remember Zemi briefly and the small introduction brings you an idea but nothing definate, though I guess you're not supposed to spend two months between reading one to another. It took me a bit to realise I wasn't looking at Daniel with new hair, I was infact reading the banter between Mike and Aaron and Daniel doesn't appear until the next page.
It was interesting seeing Daniel cope and like with last time not knowing Zemi's motives or what she was about to do to Daniel. I think that's brilliant writing, where you come in at a certain point in a conversation and believe one thing, but then when it gets into the actual event you're more shocked and I love Liz for writing like that, she almost reminds me of how I tease people with my writing and then suddenly do a curve ball at the end and surprise them.
The art is brilliant as always, focusing more on the main characters and less on the stickless background characters which don't get any detail if any. Binky also makes an appearance, since I know of Binky being associated with Stuff Sucks rather than the characters (heck I even have a Binky button badge), so I was glad to see the little fella at least get some time.
Again Liz is good because a good writer will tell you to leave the reader wanting more and not only with the first issue but now with the second she's left me wanting more and I so want to read the third one. These issues are more like chapters in a huge story and you eagerly want to read more, problem is I know once I've read the 3rd it's a long wait until number #4 (since it has yet to be published).
My Rating : Stuff Sucks doesn't suck in my opinion, it's more a gripping cliffhanger...
