Top 10 Brilliant and Breathtaking Book Covers Part #2

Book covers are the key to selling your book. So to heck with never judging a book by its cover, we've done exactly that and now here's the top 5 that you've all been waiting for!

5) Little Dee : Volume 1

Even though I somehow stumbled across Little Dee somewhere, it was the cover that actually got me interested and buying it. Without the cover being so intreguing to find out what it was all about, I probably wouldn't have known of Chris Baldwin's drawings or anything along that line.

It's colourful, it uses it all, and it's a beautiful scene that automatically makes you think of the forest, spring, the animals around the little girl and Little Dee herself. It tells you, without any words, exactly what you're about to get!

4) Yirmumah : Issue #5

I love Yirmumah and their original idea of producing monthly issues. Sure, Hero By Night came along and the webcomic community was all happy for DJ Coffman, but his best ever issue's cover had to be this one.

Issue #5, the ultimate fight. Jesus, the son of God almighty, vs Superman. Come on, you've had all the superheroes matched against each other, but nobody's undertaken the Son of God, so who's gonna win? Who knows, not even I do, but you'll have to read it to find out and that's why its so good, you want to know the result!

3) Tales From The Flat : Issue #5

Throughout all the covers I looked at, one stood out the most, not only because I have it attached to my wall as well, dazzling my eyes, but because it's the one that draws you to it. When my eyes begin to wander, they gaze upon it already.

The fifth issue, it has detail, it has the cast and it draws you towards it, even altering their logo for a second to shove the devil on there is inspired. Not many people do that, they have to keep the strict logo somewhere. You need to grip to win, but you also need fantastic art too!

2) Mojo The Sock Monkey

Mojo is funny, but Mojo's cover is excellent. It says to me "epic" and that's entirely what you get inside. But what's inside isn't what matters here, its how its presented by the cover. If you think epic, if you think it's gonna be good, you're gonna open its pages and read.

Kevin Cornell uses every inch of the cover to dazzle us with really good artwork. Sure Mojo is just a sock monkey and there's nothing really impressive about that, but the clouds, the way the logo just screams out to you, its amazing!

1) Flight series

And fantastic art is where we rest. With the Flight books, I can't give you one that's great, I can't even give you two that's great. Every single cover I see from them is divine. They're ultimately the best ever covers I've seen. If I saw them on a stand, I'd want to know what's inside.

And that's the main goal, making people interested. With each book I always think they can never top it with the cover, there is no plausable way but somehow they do it, and they do it to another toppling degree that I'm in wonder what they'll do next.
